Feb 21, 2004 Sierra Club thanks Governor Richardson for his environmental and renewable energy work.

State of the State of New Mexico address Jan. 2005, quoting Governor Richardson: "...fully fund Mainstreet, USA... Begin Light Rail..."

We all worked very hard as volunteers in '94-'95 to establish Belen Mainstreet USA Partner status under Elmo Baca, State Director. We were way behind on catching up on our City tax base, water, street projects and infrastructure. Mayor Ronnie Torres, Marylou Chavez, Julie Baca and others kept moving us forward. Regional Strategic Comprehensive Plan was begun from MSUSA Belen and HUD Transport study.
